Acting it Out

Eric Scheur does an amazing job at the 11 Second Club providing animation tips and tricks, and I recently re-visited the Acting it Out article where he goes through acting out a performance and shooting video reference. There's also several video examples with actor Chris Murray.

I first read this article when it was published over a year ago, but it's nice to go back to it and read it again as a refresher. Read the article here.

Also, check out the other Helpful Hints articles Eric has published - awesome stuff!

I totally recommend going to his masterclass if he's visiting your city. It rocks!

My First Laptop Ever!

Finally I went ahead and bought myself a tablet pc, my first laptop ever :) I ended up with a used Fujitsu Lifebook T4220 Tablet. I totally love it. It's sooo cool to finally be able to draw directly on the screen in Flipbook.

Even though it's a few years old, it runs Maya 2009 pretty good. I've played around with Bishop and it's no lag at all....even Bishop 2.0 works okay.

Lovin' it in New Zealand!

Just finished my first two weeks at Oktobor Animation Studio in Auckland, New Zealand, animating on The Penguins of Madagascar.

The show is really cool with nice and snappy animation and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm a huge fan of the movies and getting to animate some of those memorable characters is supercool!

We're settled in a nice apartment in central Auckland and even though it's mid winter down here, the temperature is pretty nice, 15-17 degrees Celsius. It's raining a lot though, but I'm happy as long as it's not snowing ;)

It feels great to be back in lovely New Zealand and my wife and I are having a blast so far.
